Hi from site 'editor' Den. No we thought, let's not just have a usual 'dry' straightforward list of links. Instead here you'll increasingly find info news and links, and a few pics, briefly covering Lena's musical journey so far, as outlined below.
It began back in the late seventies, when though working as a nurse in Kings Lynn and Papworth (first heart transplants etc) Hospitals, she tried and succeeded to sing in public for the first time, with the Barry Loftus led local band 'Countrystyle', at East Wretham Social Club. Seven immediate return gigs were booked. After a few years she formed her own country bands 'Southern Nights' and Polly Ann's Hole In The Wall Band, then moved to Norwich and later formed 'Five Card Trick', which featured Bobby Graham (Mississipi Delta) sharing vocal duties. |

Next came runs of summer season theatre solo guesting show spots at The Pavillion Theatre Gorleston plus a summer season at The Princess Theatre, Hunstanton with her country trio 'Stony Broke. Many country theatre show spots followed and included duets with the likes of George Hamilton 1V and appearances with such as Rose Marie at venues like The Brittania Theatre, Gt Yarmouth, Cromer Pier Theatre, Sheringham Little Theatre, Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmonds and Theatre Royal, Norwich. |
All great venues with plenty of live music, for locals and visiting tourists alike! She guested also around this time at Switzerland's Berne International Country Music Festival representing the UK. Her backing band there was top German country band 'George and The Lucky Riders!' ...Read more
